I got a tournament on the 29th of this month and was wondering if anyone has been up ther in the past couple of days?

I was up there two weeks ago for the Bassmaster Weekend Series and finished third. The fish are starting to relate to the flats better in the rivers and creeks. Look for a bend in the channel that cuts a "horseshoe" into a flat. These fish are relating to the standing timber on the flats gorging on the shad. There are numerous flats in the Grand river. A good check on your map will find ones with these qualities. If there is a definite tree row on the flat that leads from deeper water to shallow water even better. Look to be in 5-7' of water and pitch a green pumpking tube or 10" green pumpkin worm on a 3/16" ounce weight around the visible timber. Make sure you pitch to the trees on slack line. A square bill shad colored crankbait or small spinnerbait could work early too. Fish the flat quickly and scour the trees. Move, Move, Move, and Move some more until you find the flat that is holding the fish. When you get multiple bites in one area, put out your mailbox and set up camp. Good Luck.
