Jeff Thanks for being a fishing friend. I've fished Truman three times but not since1998. This is the first time that were staying at Bucksaw and also fishing as a non boater. Looks like we'll have 12-15 boats. This is the Colorado Western divisional state qualifier. Top twelve make the 2012 state team. Last year we fished Lake Havasu Arizona and I managed to make the team for 2011. I haven't been fishing these qualifiers but club members needed travel partners and I couldn't pass up fishing Truman. The state of Missouri has the best fishing and hunting that one could ask for and Truman is my favorite. I will call you during the week. Is their a best calling time? I would consider myself a power fisherman as opposed to finesse style( only if necessary). The Grand, Tebo and Little Tebo are my prime areas of interest and experience. Long runs mean less fishing time in most cases. Last year at Havasu we had clear water and bed fishing(which I really don't like). From what I remember the water at Truman is stained enough that sight fishing would be difficult? Least I hope so. Guess my questions would start with. Three or four spawning flat areas? The top three baits and colors you like this time of year? My fishing at Truman has all been in April. I had success with jerkbaits, spinerbaits, black & blue jigs. As for where to fish I've pin pointed all areas where the old river channel swings into the bank . What I don't understand is the spawning flat areas. One year I caught fish in a cove right at #9 mile marker in the Tebo on a jig, and spinerbait.( 25+ and finished 2nd). The next time I fished jerkbaits along the bluff wall before you go under the bridge in the Little Tebo. The last time my non boater caught big bass(8/9, black&blue; jig) along the tree lined bank on the left after you go around the point leaving Sterett Creek marina.
