If you haven't been to a power plant lake to fish in the winter time than you really need to try it at least once. The power plant recirculates lake water thru the plant and this creates hot water that dumps back into the lake. This hot water offers some really good fishing in the winter time and it seems like the colder the weather the better the fishing. You can catch about any kind of fish that's in the lake and a lot of them are concentrated around the hot water outlet.
Mark and I went today and most of what we caught were white bass and largemouth. We caught a bunch of fish but most of them were small but did catch some better largemouth later in the morning. We did however see some really nice largemouth bass that were caught. The temp reading in the truck when we headed out was 16deg. The main problem was the freezing temperatures made it hard to keep our line and reels from freezing up. Still not a bad way to get your fishing fix in when most other lakes are frozen over. Besides these lakes often hold some HUGE fish. Several years ago I caught a 10 pound largemouth from the same lake we went to today. I've posted some pics from today on my profile page if anyone is interested.
