About Us

MoBassFishin, LLC is a partnership, created on August 30, 2009, between Russ McBurney and Greg Mouser. MoBassFishin.com is a fishing web site providing a wide variety of information for the weekend and tournament angler. We have talked with anglers of all levels and understand what they need to prepare for fishing a body of water prior to fishing a tournament.

About partners

Russ McBurney has been fishing since he was a kid. His dad took him camping and fishing every summer during his youth. Mainly bank fishing, his dad taught him to fish and made several trips to Table Rock Lake and Roaring River for trout fishing. In 1973, he took a trip to Colorado with his Boy Scout Troop and fished Bear Creek in the mountains. Russ McBurney joined the U.S. Army in 1980 and retired in 1995. During the time he was in the army he had several opportunties to fish all over the world. After retiring he worked for a small network consultant company for about a year. In April 1996 he started his own network consulting company and in 2001 he started his own web services company.

Russ has been an avid fisherman throughout the years of his life. In 2006 he purchased his first bass boat and started getting familiar with the surrounding lakes. He started by fishing small local tournaments in 2008 and is currently fishing in several different tournament trails.

Greg Mouser has been hunting and fishing since he was about nine years of age. He learned about the great outdoors from his grandparents and parents, who were avid anglers and fished many of the lakes in Missouri, Northern Arkansas, and Canada. They also hunted small game and fished the ponds on farms near Southeast Missouri. After moving to the West County area of St. Louis, they would make Summer trips to many of the Missouri Lakes to fish and play.

In 1973 he went to work for a major telecommunications company in Northern Arkansas and several years later transferred to Colorado. Upon Retiring, in 2003, he and his family relocated to Springfield to be near the many lakes in the Ozarks region. He was introduced to Russ McBurney in 2008 and early in 2009 Russ invited him to fish a Bass Tournament at Table Rock Lake. He was "Hooked" and they fished several more tournaments throughout the year.

As they fished, Russ would tell him of the website idea he had for fellow anglers. Recognizing the merit in this idea and with some discussion they formed a partnership to bring you MoBassFishin.com.
