Fishing For Freedom 2018

Fishing for Freedom Hosted By Leavenworth Bass Club

The 2018 Fishing for Freedom will be held on Truman Reservoir near Warsaw, Mo, on Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7, 2018.

Fishing for Freedom is a no entry fee buddy bass tournament that pairs volunteer boaters with America's warriors to celebrate the freedoms we love with those who provide them. Volunteer boaters share a wonderful day of camaraderie on a beautiful lake with America's real life heroes in an attempt to show them how much we appreciate the sacrifices they make that allow us to enjoy the freedoms of the greatest country in the world.

There will be a pre-tournament meeting and dinner at 4 pm on Saturday, 6 October at the Warsaw Community Building by Drake Harbor. Participants will check-in at this time, link-up with their partners and receive a sponsor donated tackle pack. Boaters will be required to present proof of insurance and all participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver. We will give you your launch order and issue you a small US flag that we ask you display proudly throughout the day by affixing it to your anchor light, engine cowling, or trolling motor. We will have a guest speaker, no cost meal, and social following the meeting.

On Sunday, 7 October, a buffet style breakfast will be served starting at 5 am at the Long Shoal Marina restaurant. We will launch from both the Long Shoal Marina and Corps of Engineer ramps. Volunteers will be available to assist with backing down and parking vehicles. All boats must be in the water inside the Long Shoal Marina buoys with your running lights on and big engines off NLT 6:50 a.m. We will highlight the tournament rules/safety, say a prayer, and have the national anthem sung. We will conduct a single file launch at 7 a.m. and check-in at 2 p.m. Check-in with the tournament official on the dock at the Long Shoal Marina. You can trailer your boat prior to weigh-in. Tournament bags will be issued at the bump tanks by the Long Shoal Marina pavilion. We will begin weigh-in at 2:15pm. Trophy presentations and a raffle will follow the completion of the weigh-in. Following the presentations, we will have a BBQ lunch provided by Chuck Wagon BBQ. Please hang around and enjoy the food, drinks and meet the participants.

All participants must review the tournament rules and liability waiver at the below hyperlinks. They are both in PDF format for easy viewing and printing. We will have additional copies available at the check-in table during the pre-tournament meeting. Visit Fishing For Freedom 2018 for rules, registration and more information about the tournament activities.
