Max Ray Takes First Place at Lake Taneycomo
From Division 64 in Missouri on Aug 8th, 2010. Max Ray from Branson, MO is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win worth 440.00 dollars in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Lake Taneycomo this past weekend. Max weighed in nine fish over the two days, just one short of a limit on day two but still had plenty of weight to with a total weight of 24.01 pounds. Second place went to I.M. Bishop with a weight of 6.56 pounds; third place Dean Jones with a weight of 6.45 pounds. Big bass was awarded was to Max Ray for catching a 5.92 pound largemouth bass.
Max Ray also won angler of the year in district 64, qualifying him for a one day tournament at Barkley Lake this October where he could win a fully loaded Triton Bass Boat. Max also received a gift certificate for one free prop repair from Jon's Hot Props.
Conditions: Lake Temperature at Lake Taneycomo was 70-75 degrees in the main lake and 80 degrees in the coves.
Winning Strategy: Max rotated between docks and grass both days with most of his fish coming from the docks, swimming a black jig.
